Any given day...

"On any given Sunday you’re gonna win or you’re gonna lose. The point is — can you win or lose like a man?"

Describing the movie "any given Sunday", a former football player declared "Baseball is what America aspires to be. Football is what this country is". At the end of the day I feel tired of being football and playing baseball. Knowing all your rules by heart better than how you could ever learn them in a lifetime and still don't understand an inch of them. Feeling in every cell the weight of my ancestors and all the history I know, knowing that I can't repeat an error otherwise my superego will pin me about it forever. Neglect the time going on because each day I have more energy and resistance, need less sleep and food, all that to do things that have less meaning every day. Looking the world and instead seeing the past flash before my eyes. It's night and everyone is gone to his deserved sleep. In a few hours it will be sunrise, the world will wake up, I'll put aside my thoughts and repeat myself that "personal isn't the same as important" and that "you do the job that’s in front of you" doing it "by our own hand or none".

"What kind of human creates his own policeman?"
"One who fears the dark."
"And so he should."
'Indeed. But I think you misunderstand. I am not here to keep the darkness out. I'm here to keep it in. Imagine how strong I must be."
